These terms apply when you use Defense News. By reading the site, signing in or posting a comment, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What Defense News is

Defense News is a fan-run, fictional news site covering defense roleplay on Roblox. Every article, byline, unit, nation, person and event on the site is invented for entertainment. Nothing here is real news, and nothing here should be relied on as fact or advice.

Defense News is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation, nor any real-world military, government or news organisation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.

Accounts

You don't need an account to read the site. To comment, you sign in with your Roblox account, so you must be allowed to use Roblox under Roblox's own terms. Your Roblox username and avatar will appear next to your comments. You're responsible for what is posted from your account.

Newsroom (editor) access is granted only to Roblox accounts approved by the site's operators and can be withdrawn at any time.

Comment rules

Comments are moderated. When commenting, don't:

• harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone;
• post hate speech, sexual content or anything inappropriate for a young audience;
• share anyone's personal information, including your own (real names, addresses, phone numbers, social media or contact details);
• blur the line between roleplay and reality, e.g. real-world threats or claims;
• spam, advertise, or post links meant to scam or phish other players;
• post anything that breaks the law or Roblox's Community Standards.

Anyone signed in can report a comment. Editors may remove any comment, and may ban an account from commenting, at their discretion and without notice. To keep discussions readable, the number of comments you can post in a short period is limited.

Your content

You keep ownership of your comments. By posting one, you give Defense News permission to display it on the site alongside your Roblox username and avatar for as long as it stays up. You can ask us to remove your comments at any time; see the privacy policy for how.

Our content

Articles, the Defense News name and logo, and the site's design belong to Defense Newsand its contributors. You're welcome to share links to articles and quote short extracts with credit. Please don't republish whole articles or present them as real news.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its newsroom, scrape it in bulk, or interfere with other people using it.

No guarantees

Defense News is a hobby project provided “as is”. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that content and comments will be kept forever. We may change, pause or close the site at any time. To the extent the law allows, Defense News and its operators aren't liable for any loss arising from using the site or from content posted by other users. Links to other sites, such as Roblox and Discord, are governed by those sites' own terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
